Mexico Summer Program
LIVE THE SPANISH LANGUAGE
IN MEXICO IN 2008!
1. Courses and credit:
- Spanish 2310/2320 - Intermediate College Spanish
- Spanish 3330 - Advanced Oral Communication (TOPT Prep)
- Spanish 3390 - Studies in Hispanic Civilization
- Spanish 4391- Seminar
2. Cost for 6 hours credit - $4000. (Price subject to change depending on exchange rate and airfare RT from Houston.)
Includes tuition, transportation to and from Querétaro, lodging, 3 meals per day, excursions, and some social activities.
3. Dates: July 4 - August 2, 2008
4. Lodging: Students stay singly in private homes and take all meals with the host family.
5. Classes: Four hours per day. All classes taught by UMHB faculty or professors from the Universidad de Querétaro.
6. Tentative activities for the group include:
- Excursion to Teotihuacan and Mexico City
- Cooking and dance classes
- Theater, symphony, concerts, city anniversary events
- Walking tours of Querétaro
7. A passport is required and the tourist card will be issued on the flight.
8. Complete Medical Coverage is required and will be included in the fee.
9. Prerequisite: Successful completion of first-year college Spanish or equivalent.
10. Those interested should contact the department as soon as possible and secure an advising slip to enroll during a special early pre-registration in March, 2008. A $750 non-refundable deposit will be required at that time. Late registration will be considered.
