Department of Biology

The Department of Biology strives to develop in students an understanding and awareness of environmental processes and to provide a basic knowledge of the taxonomy, morphology, and physiology of man and other organisms. Biology majors receive the appropriate background for graduate work, science, education, or employment requiring a fundamental knowledge of Biology.

Life-Earth Science Minor

A minor in Life-Earth Science is 29-30 semester hours consisting of BIOL 1410 and 1420; GEOL 1401 and 1402; PHYS 3301 and 3302; and 7-8 hours of upper level Biology electives. Students majoring in Biology may not take the same Biology courses to complete the Life-Earth Science minor as were taken in their major, excluding BIOL 1410 and 1420.
