MS beats McMurry 5-0

Belton, TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team took control of the match early and cruised to a 5-0 victory over McMurry University Friday afternoon in Belton. The Cru improves to 10-6-1 overall and 9-2-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops McMurry to 3-8-2 overall and 2-8-2 in the ASC on the year.
UMHB took a 1-0 lead when Jonathan Hernandez scored unassisted just 4:30 into the match. Hernandez added another goal off an assist from Mickey Kerr at the 17:30 mark. Bo Baker then added a pair of goals for UMHB in a four-minute span to make it 4-0 Cru. Juan Lopez added a goal 15:33 into the second half to provide the final margin for UMHB. Jude Austin posted six saves in goal for the Cru as he posted the shutout.
The UMHB men will close out the regular season with a 3:00 PM home match against Hardin-Simmons University tomorrow at the Cru Sports Plex. The Cru has already clinched a berth in next weekend's ASC Championship Tournament. This marks the first time in the history of the program that the UMHB men have clinched ASC Tournament berths in back-to-back seasons.
