MTEN falls in ASC Championship Tournament

Abilene, TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team fell behind in doubles and could not overcome the deficit in singles as the Cru fell to Mississippi College 5-2 in the opening round of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Thursday in Abilene. The UMHB men finish the year with a 6-5 record after advancing to the ASC Tournament in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history. The Choctaws improve to 6-10 and advance to the semifinals to face U.T.-Dallas tomorrow morning.
UMHB got wins from the doubles team of Chad Mann and Jeff Contreras at #2 doubles and from Burton Goen at #5 singles. Eric White and Daniel Quinones fell at #1 doubles for the first time since the ITA Small College National Championship match last fall. The match closed out the UMHB careers of seniors Eric White, Daniel Quinones and Jeff Contreras.
