TEN closes out play at UMHB Fall Classic

Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's and women's tennis teams closed out play the UMHB/Temple College Fall Classic by winning a pair of singles titles.

In flight one men's singles, UMHB's Eric Thompson fell in the championship match to TC's Kevin Serwatka 7-5, 6-1. Chad Mann dropped a 6-3, 6-0 decision to Schreiner's Carlo Sasam in the third place match.

In flight two men's singles, UMHB's Colby Nichols topped Cameron Holland of Southwestern University 6-0, 6-0.

In flight three men's singles, UMHB's Alex Graham fell to Daniel Okland of Schreiner College 6-4, 7-5 and the Cru's Daniel White topped Adam Dobbins of Schreiner 6-1, 6-4.

In flight one men's doubles, UMHB's Eric Thompson and Burton Goen took third place with an 8-5 victory over Schreiner's Brent Coleman and Riley Winterringer. Goen and Thompson opened the day with an 8-6 loss to Michael Abundis and David Williams of Temple College. Daniel White and Alex Graham finished fifth with an 8-4 win over Carlo Sasam and Ben Jackson of Schreiner. White and Graham opened the day with a 9-8(8) victory over teammates Colby Nichols and Eric Rudolph. Nichols and Rudolph then went on to post an 8-3 victory over D'Artagan Bebel and Alex Jensen of Southwestern.

In flight two men's doubles, UMHB's Mann and Mitch Hallum fell to Chris Niswonger and Bryan Jackson of Temple College 8-3 before beating Adam Dobbins and Daniel Okland of Schreiner 8-1.

In flight one women's singles, UMHB's Amber Thomas beat Michelle Martinez of Schreiner 6-1, 6-0 and Whitney Wolz posted a 6-1, 6-3 win over Katrina Priess of Schreiner.

UMHB's Christi Voss won the flight two women's singles championship with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over teammate Emily Kunze. UMHB's Katy Butler fell to Natalie Foster of TC 6-3, 2-6, 10-8.

UMHB's Heather Maust won the flight three women's singles title by beating Southwestern's Charlotte Haskey 6-0, 6-3. Amber Long finished third for the Cru with a 6-7(6), 6-4, 10-2 victory over Southwestern's Sarah Fitzsimmons.

In flight four women's singles, UMHB's Emily Williams beat Tina Phillipi of Schreiner 6-1, 6-1.

In flight one women's doubles, UMHB's Long and Wolz fell to Leslie Smith and Emily Gutzmer of Southwestern 8-0 in the championship match. Thomas and Maust beat Stephanie Reed and Tina Phillipi of Schreiner 8-3.

In flight two women's doubles, UMHB's Butler and Williams fell to Brittany Fondren and Alexandra Nicole of Southwestern 8-6 while Kunze and Voss topped Allison Noblitt and Charlotte Haskey of Southwestern 8-2.
