Belton, TX -One week after preparing for an opponent it had never faced before, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team is gearing up for a very familiar foe. The Cru will travel to Dover, Delaware this Saturday to take on Wesley College in an NCAA Division III National Championships Quarterfinal game. This will be the third straight year that the two teams have faced off in the playoffs and the second straight year for the Cru and Wolverines to get together in the National Quarterfinals. Wesley has won the previous two meetings and the UMHB players and coaches are well aware of what the Wolverines can do.
"We have a tremendous amount of respect for Wesley and what they've been able to accomplish," Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. "Our guys understand the importance of this game, not just because of the chance to advance, but also for the chance to try to beat these guys for the first time. They are as talented as anybody we've played and Wesley has become another measuring stick for our program. We are going to have to play at a fever pitch to have a chance to win the game."
The Cru is 11-1 overall and in the National Quarterfinals for the third time in the last four seasons. Wesley College is also 11-1 on the year and the Wolverines are making their third straight appearance in the National Quarterfinals. The game is an 11:00 AM Central Time kickoff at Miller Stadium in Dover.
Tickets for Saturday's game will be available at the gate. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
