UMHB places three on ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team

Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor placed three student-athletes on the American Southwest Conference Fall Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team today. The Cru had players named to the football, men's soccer and women's soccer teams.
Joel Munoz represents the Cru on the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Football Team. Munoz is a senior punter/kicker and cellular biology major from Ferris High School.
Mickey Kerr represents UMHB on the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Men's Soccer Team. Kerr is a senior midfielder and accounting major from Belton High School.
Lauren Thorne represents the Cru on the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Women's Soccer Team. Thorne is a junior midfielder and finance major from Round Rock High School.
This is the first year for the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Teams. The honor recognizes student-athletes that achieve a higher level of academic achievement (a 3.20 grade-point average or better) while competing as a starter or important reserve on their team. From that list, limited to one nominee per school in each ASC Championship sport - the Sports Information Directors from the conference's 15 member institutions vote on a Distinguished Scholar-Athlete from each sport.
