FB's Jerrell Freeman named to Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Game

Belton, TX - University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Jerrell Freeman has been selected to play in the Second Annual Texas vs. the Nation All-Star game next month. Freeman, a senior linebacker from Waco University High School, was voted D3football.com National Defensive Player of the Year following the 2007 season. He was also voted American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Freeman is a two-time D3football.com All-America selection and is a three-time ASC First Team All-Conference pick. He posted a team-high 112 tackles this past season and added 18.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks. Freeman finished his career as UMHB's all-time leader in tackles and he became the first Cru player to top 300 career tackles.
The Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Game will be played on February 2nd at 4:00 PM Central Time at the Sun Bowl in El Paso. The game pits a team of college seniors who played or started their collegiate careers at Texas universities against a team of college seniors from across the nation. The Texas team will be coached by former Texas A&M and Alabama head coach Gene Stallings. Former NFL head coach Buddy Ryan will coach the Nation's Team.
