Belton, TX - University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball player Landie Thompson has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Co-Player of the Week for the week ending February 24th. Thompson, a freshman center from Lake Travis High School, averaged 23 points and 16 rebounds per game in two games for the Cru women last week. She had back-to-back double-doubles and posted a career and ASC season-high with 21 rebounds in the game against McMurry University. This is Thompson's second player of the week honor this season. She shares this week's honor with Howard Payne forward Kim Hoffman.

The UMHB women closed out the regular season with a 14-11 overall record and a 12-9 mark in ASC play. The Cru women clinched a berth in the ASC Championship Tournament for the third straight year and will take on U.T.-Tyler in an 8:00 PM first round game Friday night in Tyler.
