WG in ninth place at Northwood Tournament

Granbury, TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team is ninth place after the opening round of the Northwood University Invitational Monday in Granbury. The Cru women fired a 367 team total and trail team leader Oklahoma City University's 301 by 66 strokes. The Texas junior varsity is second with a 308 score. Redlands Community College is in third place with a 311, Lubbock Christian recorded a 333 for fourth place and Southern Nazarene University rounds out the top five with a 339. Tournament host Northwood University is sixth with a 345, U.T.-Brownsville is seventh at 355 and Southwestern (KS) College is eighth with a 357, 10 strokes ahead of UMHB. Oklahoma Baptist University holds down 10th place with a 380, LeTourneau University shot 414 for 11th place and U.T.-Dallas is in 12th place with a 470. The two-day, 36-hole event is being played on a par-72, 6,164-yard layout at Harbor Lakes Golf Course in Granbury.
UMHB's Kathryne Lozano fired the low individual round for the Cru women with a 91. Lozano is tied for 37th place. Allison Williams, Christi Williams and Courtney Nelson all shot 92 for UMHB to tie for 42nd place and Taylour Shaw carded a 104 for 56th place. Alexandra Richards of the U.T. JV has the individual lead after shooting 71.
The tournament wraps up with 18 more holes tomorrow. The UMHB women will begin teeing off at 8:30 AM.
