WS beats Concordia Texas 2-0

Austin, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team dominated the match defensively and came up with enough offense to make it stand up as the Lady Cru posted a 2-0 victory over Concordia Texas Saturday afternoon in Austin. The UMHB women improve to 5-6 overall and 5-2 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Concordia women to 2-9 overall and 1-7 in the ASC on the season.

The Lady Cru took a 1-0 lead when Jordan Jackson scored three minutes into the match off an assist from Kim Wobecky. Brittany Clemens scored an insurance goal at the 56:49 mark to make it 2-0 UMHB. The Lady Cru defense made it stand up, holding Concordia to just one shot in the match and outshooting the Tornados 39-1 in the victory. Ally Sargeant posted the shutout in goal for the Lady Cru. Elizabeth Hall recorded 13 saves in the net for Concordia.

The UMHB women will now return home to host a pair of ASC matches next weekend. The Lady Cru will host University of the Ozarks for a 1:00 PM start next Friday before taking on U.T.-Dallas in a 1:00 PM start on Saturday. Both of those matches will be played at the Cru Sports Plex on the UMHB campus.
