WS edges Ozarks 1-0

10/12/07

Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team found just enough offense to go with a solid defensive effort as the Lady Cru posted a 1-0 victory over the University of the Ozarks Friday afternoon in Belton. The UMHB women improve to 6-6 overall and 6-2 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Lady Eagles to 3-5-4 overall and 2-5-1 in the ASC on the season.

The two teams were scoreless through the first half and the first 14 minutes of the second period. UMHB's Lateah Lucero broke the drought with an assist from Jordan Jackson at the 59:23 mark to provide the match's only offense. Ally Sargeant finished with three saves in goal for the Lady Cru to post her fourth shutout of the season. Lori Langman had one save in goal for the Ozarks as UMHB managed just six shots in the match.

The UMHB women will continue their home stand with another ASC match tomorrow. The Lady Cru will host U.T.-Dallas for a 1:00 PM kickoff at the Cru Sports Plex.
