WS tops Louisiana College 3-1

Pineville, LA - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team grabbed an early lead and never looked back as the Lady Cru posted a 3-1 victory over Louisiana College Thursday evening in Pineville, Louisiana. The UMHB women move to 7-7 overall and 7-3 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Lady Wildcats to 6-10 overall and 5-5 in the ASC on the season.

Mickie Arredondo opened the scoring for UMHB with an assist from Lauren Thorne just 3:53 into the match. Arredondo added a goal off an assist from Kim Wobecky at the 49:08 mark and the Lady Cru led 2-0 at halftime. LC cut it to 2-1 on Marionne Caronel's unassisted goal at the 81:46 mark. Brittany Paxton then provided a little breathing room for UMHB with an unassisted goal just under five minutes later. Ally Sargeant posted two saves in goal for UMHB and Carla Lambert had six saves for the Lady Wildcats. The UMHB women out shot LC 18-6 in the victory.

The UMHB women will continue their road trip with a 1:00 PM start at Mississippi College on Saturday. The Lady Cru will then return home to close out the regular season with home matches against McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons University next weekend.
