WTEN advances to ASC Tournament semifinals

Tyler, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team swept through doubles and never looked back as the Cru women rolled to a 5-0 win over LeTourneau University in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Friday in Tyler. The win is the first ASC Tournament victory in the history of the UMHB women's tennis program and sends the Cru women into a semifinal match tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 against tournament host and ASC East Division Champion U.T.-Tyler (15-3). The UMHB women improve to 8-3 on the season with the victory. The loss ends LeTourneau's year at 10-11.

The Cru women picked up doubles victories from the teams of Amber Long and Whitney Wolz, Elise Kunze and Christi Voss and Rebecca Everett and Heather Maust. UMHB then picked up wins from Heather Maust at #6 singles and from Voss at #3 singles to close out the victory. The Cru women were also leading the other four singles matches when play was stopped.
