WS places six on Academic All-Conference Team

Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team placed six players on the American Southwest Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Team released today. To be eligible for the ASC Academic All-Conference Team, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior, earn a letter and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
Mickie Arredondo is a sophomore midfielder and Cellular Biology major from Bryan High School. Brittany Clemens is a junior midfielder and Sport Management/Exercise and Sport Science major from Bishop LeBland High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. Taylor Harrison is a senior forward and Christian Ministry major from Fredericksburg High School. Brittany Paxton is a sophomore midfielder and art major from Houston Christian High School. Lauren Thorne is a junior midfielder and finance major from Round Rock High School. Jennifer Zimmerman is a senior defender and nursing major from Huntsville High School.
This is the third appearance on the ASC Academic Honor squad for Harrison and Zimmerman. Thorne is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection and this is the first Academic All-Conference selection for Arredondo, Clemens and Paxton.
The UMHB women finished the 2007 season with an 8-10 overall record and an 8-5 mark in ASC play. The Lady Cru advanced to the ASC Championship Tournament for just the second time in the program's history.
