FB's Josh Saenz named ASC Offensive Player of the Week

Belton, TX - University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Josh Saenz has been named American Southwest Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cru's 20-18 victory over Hardin-Simmons last Saturday. Saenz, a senior quarterback from McAllen High School, ran for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries for UMHB. Saenz set a new school record for single-game rushing by a quarterback and posted career highs in yards and carries. He also completed 3-6 passes for 34 more yards as he led an offense that controlled the ball for 39:15 of the game. Saenz shares Offensive Player of the Week honors with Texas Lutheran University quarterback Joel Waldon this week.

The Cru is now 4-0 overall and 3-0 in ASC play. UMHB will travel to Pineville, Louisiana this weekend to face Louisiana College in a 1:00 PM kickoff.
