SB places six on NFCA All-Region Team

Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team placed six players on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's All-West Region Team released today. The Cru had a pair of First Team selections, one Second Team pick and three Third Teamers.
Kacie Kripner and Megan Bohne were both named to the NFCA All-West Region First Team. Kripner, a senior catcher from San Antonio MacArthur High School, is batting .387 with a team-best six home runs and 49 RBI. She also set a new American Southwest Conference career record for doubles this year. Bohne, a freshman designated player from A&M Consolidated High School, is batting .376 with three home runs and 36 RBI. Kripner and Bohne will now move on to the ballot for NFCA All-American honors.
Pitcher/infielder Kelsey Greeson is an All-West Division Second Team selection. Greeson, a sophomore from Belton High School, is 16-2 on the season with a 2.47 ERA. She also has a team-best 114 strikeouts in 113.1 innings pitched. Greeson has tied the UMHB single-season record for pitching victories and is also hitting .358 with two homers and 19 RBI on the year.
Daphne Kahlig, Katina Penter and Jessica Oliver were all named Third Team All-West Region. Kahlig, a senior pitcher from Rosebud-Lott High School, is 12-5 on the year and leads the Cru with a 2.44 ERA. Penter, a senior shortstop from Bishop High School, leads UMHB with a .405 batting averaged and has four home runs and 28 RBI. Oliver, a sophomore outfielder from Belton High School, is batting .372 with one home run and 25 RBI on the season.
The Cru is 32-9 overall this season and has advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time in school history. UMHB went 24-0 in ASC West Division play and became the first ASC team to go 24-0 in divisional play.
