VB's Maenius and Daniell take Player of the Week honors

Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week honors this week. Outside hitter Melanie Daniell took Offensive Player of the Week honors and defensive specialist Erin Maenius claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Daniell, a freshman outside hitter from Florence, posted 56 kills in five matches last week. She also added 10 service aces, 23 total blocks and 16 digs during the week. Maenius, a freshman defensive specialist from San Antonio MacArthur High School, led the Cru with 5.5 digs per game over 19 games. She also posted five service aces and a pair of assists as UMHB went 3-2 last week.

The Cru is currently 8-9 overall and has a 5-4 mark in ASC play. UMHB returns to action with an ASC East Division match at U.T.-Dallas tonight at 7:00 PM.
