VB falls to McMurry in ASC Cross-Over Tournament

Austin, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team could not overcome an early deficit and the Cru dropped a four-game decision to McMurry University in the American Southwest Conference Cross-Over Tournament Friday night in Austin. The loss drops UMHB to 9-11 overall and 6-6 in ASC play on the season. McMurry improves to 15-3 overall and 10-3 in the ASC with the victory.

The Cru fell behind early and a late rally was not enough to overcome the slow start in a 30-27, 30-19, 27-30, 30-16 loss to McMurry. Melanie Daniell led UMHB with nine kills and she added two block solos and six block assists. Alexandra Johansson-Jones added seven kills and three total blocks. Stephanie Little had 13 assists and Erin Davis added 11 more. Erin Maenius had a team-high 19 digs for UMHB in the match.

The Cru will close out the ASC Cross-Over with a pair of matches tomorrow. UMHB will take on Hardin-Simmons University in a 12:00 PM start before facing Concordia Texas in a 5:00 PM start.
