VB tops LeTourneau University 3-0

Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team took control of the match early and never looked back as the Cru rolled to a three-game victory over LeTourneau University Tuesday night in Belton. UMHB improves to 10-13 overall and 7-8 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The Cru has also topped last season's win total with eight regular season matches remaining on the schedule. The loss drops LeTourneau to 4-19 overall and 1-14 in the ASC.

UMHB dominated early on the way to a 30-12, 30-26, 30-18 victory. The Cru hit .188 as a team and added nine total team blocks. The Yellow Jackets hit -.008 as a team and posted four total team blocks. Alexandra Johansson-Jones led UMHB with 14 kills and Kayla Skrobarcyzk added seven more. Stephanie Little, the team's only senior, added 20 assists and 12 digs on senior night. Erin Maenius had a team-high 17 digs for the Cru. Kristen Chapman led LeTourneau with seven kills and Ashley White added six more. Abigail Hews posted a team-high 22 assists and Bethany Suderman recorded 12 digs for the Yellow Jackets.

UMHB will return to action with a non-conference match at nationally-ranked Trinity University on Thursday. The Cru will then travel to Sherman to play four matches in the Austin College Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
