VB falls to nationally ranked Trinity 3-0

San Antonio, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team could not overcome a quick start from the nation's third-ranked team and the Cru dropped a three-game decision to #3 Trinity University Thursday evening in San Antonio. The loss drops UMHB to 10-14 on the season. The Tigers improve to 27-1 on the year with the victory.
The Cru fell 30-18, 30-18, 30-22 as the Tigers hit .331 as a team. Trinity also posted 14 service aces in the match. Kyleigh Thurman, Melanie Daniell and Leigh Ann Hall topped the Cru with six kills apiece and Kayla Skrobarcyzk and Alexandra Johansson-Jones added five kills each. Stephanie Little posted a team-high 14 assists and Erin Maenius record 12 digs.
The Cru will now travel to Sherman for the Austin College Tournament this weekend. UMHB will face Concordia Texas, McMurry University, Howard Payne University and Paul Quinn College over the two days of the tournament.
