VB falls to Mississippi College in four games

Clinton, MS- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team could claw its way out of an early hole and the Cru missed an opportunity to clinch a berth in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament as UMHB dropped a four-game decision to Mississippi College Friday evening in Clinton, Mississippi. The two teams are now tied for third place in the ASC's East Division heading into the final day of ASC play tomorrow. UMHB falls to 13-16 overall and 7-9 in ASC play with the loss. The Choctaws raise their record to 14-14 overall and 7-9 in the ASC with the victory.

The Cru dropped the first two games before rallying for a game three win. The two teams see-sawed through game four before the Choctaws held on for a 30-28, 30-15, 29-31, 31-29 victory.

UMHB will close out ASC play with a 5:00 PM match at East Texas Baptist tomorrow in Marshall. The Cru can clinch an ASC Tournament berth with a win over ETBU or a Mississippi College loss to U.T.-Dallas tomorrow.
