College of Humanities presents “Current Issues in State Politics”

Belton, Texas - The College of Humanities at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will host a one-hour program at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, presented by State Representative Dianne White Delisi on the topic, "Current Issues in State Politics." The program will take place at Brindley Auditorium in the York Science Center on campus. The program is free and open to the public.


Representative Delisi was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1990 and is in her ninth term of office. She has chosen not to run for re-election in the next term. She has authored noteworthy legislation in the areas of education, healthcare, military and economic development and has been honored for her efforts. In 2003 and 2005 she was recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as one of its "Top 10 Legislators." In 2005 Delisi also received the Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service as a State Representative from the American Medical Association and the Texas Association of Business "Champion for Free Enterprise" Award.
