Building My Course Schedule
Thank you for reserving your day to attend Crusader Connection. Before you attend this summer, you should develop an initial plan for your Fall 2008 course schedule. We want your initial semester to be rewarding and set a good start to your educational experience. We also want you to assume ultimate responsibility for your educational experience, and part of that is thoughtfully anticipating the courses necessary to achieve your goals. Resources to help you do this are the:

• Step-by-step guide to building your course schedule
Most students take between 12-16 hours each semester, and classes typically meet 3-4 hours a week on alternating days. It is not as important to determine the times your classes meet now (unless you have known commitments like work or extracurricular activities) as it is to select the actual courses.
Your first semester will be composed of 1) Core Curriculum requirements and 2) courses related to your academic interests or anticipated major. We do not expect you to decide on a major area of study right away, but if you have, you may begin taking courses related to that degree in this first semester. If you are undecided at this time, take time to explore our ten undergraduate degree programs of study offered at UMHB.
We have established some guidelines for you to follow in selecting your first semester courses; it can be completed in three easy steps.
