The Crusader Update

Crusader Parent Organization – Get Involved!

Many universities have discovered that special parent organizations maximize student success while at the same time minimize hyper-involvement.  The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has helped to achieve this balance by encouraging parent involvement in our Crusader Parent Organization.

 Ways to be involved:
  • If you have a student currently attending the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, you are automatically a member of the Crusader Parent Organization (CPO).

  • Attend our regular fall and Spring CPO meetings.  The fall meeting is scheduled the same weekend as Family Weekend.  The spring meeting is scheduled during our annual Cru Camp, which is an event designed for newly accepted students.  Check our website for more information.

  • Consider becoming a board member.  Board members and officers of CPO are eligible to vote on specific matters brought forth by the members; i.e. how to spend the money collected during fundraisers throughout the year; fundraising ideas; changes in CPO activities and involvement, etc.

  • Check the website regularly.  That is the quickest way to receive updated information about special meetings or events for which your involvement would be helpful.

  • Please feel free to keep open communication with our current board members and officers.  Suggestions and new ideas are both encouraged and extremely helpful.  We continue to grow and as a collective group.  We as parents can help influence and impact our students’ experiences at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Some future plans for our CPO website include an interactive Parent-to-Parent blog.  Through this blog we can share our experiences, questions, and advice with each other and learn how to take this journey together of experiencing our students become adults.
