See the UMHB catalog for specific College requirements. - Students with two or more years of Spanish or French in the junior/senior years of high school, or heritage/native speakers, must take a placement test. This test demonstrates a "level of proficiency" to determine which course the student should begin with.
- The placement test is offered on-line and may be taken at any time in the Center for Academic Excellence Testing Center, Mabee Center 2nd floor.
There is no charge for this test. - Placement testing does not grant hours credit. Students desiring credit hours
on their college transcript must take the CLEP exam. Spanish minors/majors who place out of Span 2310/2320 must obtain credit for those hours through the CLEP exam or take an additional 6 hours of other upper-level electives. - French and German credit is also available through the CLEP exam.
