Challenge Issued to President’s Leadership Circle Members
UMHB is just $300,000 short of its stated goal of $60 million for Momentum: The Campaign for Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Don and Pat Jackson have challenged their fellow President's Leadership Circle members to reach that goal by the end of 2014 by making an end-of-year gift of $1,000 or more to the university.
"Together we can all make this happen," the Jacksons said in their letter of challenge. "Let's honor what Dr. Randy O'Rear has meant to UMHB. . . Let's pay it forward and show our pride!"
Quick to accept the challenge were Philip and Linda Smith of Belton, who stepped forward that same day contributing $1,000 each. "The challenge is a great opportunity to help UMHB fulfill its goals," said Philip Smith. "The core reason we give, though, is that the people at Mary Hardin-Baylor are committed in their beliefs and really work to help students. We want to support the work being done there, and we feel blessed by our involvement with the school."
