UMHB Hosts Middle School Band Camp

Belton, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Conservatory will hold a Band Camp for middle school students June 15-17 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Band Camp is open to students who have completed grades 6-8. Camp instruction will include sectionals, sight-reading, audition preparation, instrumental techniques and ensemble training directed by UMHB faculty, students and area directors.

Students may also sign up for one or two half-hour private lessons on their instrument for an additional $12 per lesson.

Private lessons will be given between 1:30 and 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday.

Campers also have the option of going to Summer Fun, the water park in Belton, on Tuesday afternoon, for an additional $10.

The three-day camp will be held on the UMHB Campus in Presser Hall and costs $75 per camper. Parents, family and friends will be able to attend a half-hour concert on Wednesday, June 17, at 12:00 p.m. in Hughes Recital Hall in Presser Hall to hear the results of the camp experience.
