Ft. Hood Shooting Update

A mass shooting at Fort Hood ended Thursday afternoon with 13 dead and 30 wounded, Army base officials said. An Army spokesman confirmed that an additional 31 adults were wounded in the attack. Though early reports indicated the lone assailant had been killed, Army officials later confirmed that the shooter, an Army psychiatrist, had been wounded but was stabilized and under arrest.

President Randy O'Rear expressed the sadness of the university community over the day's events. "We extend our condolences to all those affected by this tragedy. Our prayers will be for their strength and healing in the difficult days to come," he said.
