Voice Students Compete in Texoma NATS

Belton, Texas - Thirteen voice students from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor recently competed in the TEXOMA NATS regional convention and student auditions held at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Students competed in various divisions including high school young women and college divisions. Ashley Calderon, a student of Lisa Clement, was a finalist and fourth place winner in senior women college division.
Chelsea Long, a student of Guy Wilson, was a semifinalist in high school young women's division; Gerald Nicholas, a student of Guy Wilson, was a semifinalist in freshmen men college division. Leslie Cross, a student of Lisa Clement, was a semifinalist in senior women college division.
Other students who participated in the auditions from the studio of Penny Hogan were Tasha Jefferson, Glirsa Garcia and Saran Chumley; from the studio of Lisa Clement were Jeanette Peterson, Meg Gohlke and Janice Subotich; from the studio of Guy Wilson were Erik Wilbur, Erika Mercer and Phillip Diaz.
The TEXOMA region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing is comprised of many universities and colleges from Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. TEXOMA NATS annually holds its fall regional convention and student auditions for the three-state region.
