Character Cameos Presented at UMHB

Belton, Texas –Performance Studies students in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will present Character Cameos on Tuesday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m. in Brindley Auditorium in York Science Hall on campus. 

This program is entitled Truth and is free and open to the public. Each of these individual performances is a story of a fascinating, historic character and is about five minutes in length. 

Caitlin Murray will present Confessions of a Single Soul, from the letters of Jane Austen. Julie Bradford will perform Lucille Ball in The Road to Loving Lucy. Aja Bradford will reveal the Thoughts of a Potential Bride from the life of Coretta Scott King. Ashley Taylor will perform Queen Mary I of England in Royally Misunderstood.  Luke Longino will present the historical personal journey of John Newton in Amazing Grace. Candace Cross will give the story of Annie Sullivan in Memories of My Darling.

Further, Raychelle Presley will perform the tragic story of the Triangle Shirt Factory Women in On the Inside. Lindsey Villareal will deliver a speech by Eva Peron in A Woman’s Voice in Argentina. Josh Davis will perform Heinz Linge, Hitler’s butler, as he reveals the truth about Hitler. Matt Litaker will tell the story of Julia Childs in Trois Garmetts. Angela Booth will perform Maya Angelou in Inspiration. Brett Parker will present the story of John Lennon in
Give Peace a Chance. Ashley Ramirez will perform America Ferrera in Mommy, I did it!

Each performer has conducted primary source research, written, and produced his or her script.  As the performers' schedules allow, these pieces can be available as cameos or expanded for community service in schools, churches, museums, and civic organizations.They are available for onsite audiences or distance ones via videoconferencing or videostreaming technologies.
