163rd Fall Convocation

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will celebrate their 163rd Fall Convocation service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, in the Mayborn Campus Center on campus.

Mr. Ted Barnes, dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, will be the guest speaker at the 2008 Fall Convocation service. Barnes came to UMHB in 2007. He formerly served at Louisiana College as the art department chair and taught graphic design at Ouachita Baptist University.

Convocation inaugurates the official opening of the new academic school year at the university. The Gary and Diane Heavin Servant Leadership Award will be presented to two students to recognize their volunteerism and service in non-profit organizations in the community.

Fall Convocation at UMHB is open to the public.
