Faraway Nearby Arts Presentation

Belton, Texas - The College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will present Faraway Nearby on Thursday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. The performance will be held in Hughes Recital Auditorium in Presser Hall on campus. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Faraway Nearby is an arts event that will incorporate the visual arts, language arts, and musical arts. It will be an evening of creative collaboration.

Faraway Nearby will feature original works from visual artists, composers and poets including Ted Barnes, Phil Dunham, John Hancock, Helen Kwiatkowski, Hershall Seals, Barbara Fontaine-White, Lon Chaffin, Justin Raines, Audell Shelburne, Cleatus Rattan and Brady Peterson.

Special guest artists include Celeste Shearer, horn; James E. Shearer, tuba; Martha Rowe, piano; and Larry D. Thomas, 2008 Texas Poet Laureate.
