WS edged by U.T.-Dallas 2-1

Richardson, TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team could not overcome a late U.T.-Dallas goal as the Lady Cru fell to the Comets 2-1 Thursday night in Richardson. The UMHB women fall to 6-4 overall and 5-2 in American Southwest Conference play with the loss. U.T.-Dallas improves to 6-3-3 overall and 4-1-1 in the ASC with the victory.

UTD took a 1-0 lead when Kristina Rinner scored an unassisted goal 11:30 into the match. UMHB tied the game when Lexy Smith scored off an assist from Lauren Thorne on a corner kick with just three seconds remaining in the first half. It would stay that way until Rinner scored again, this time with an assist from Leah Bowyer with 1:51 left in the match. Allyson Sargeant had five saves in goal for the Cru women. Andrea Jones added five saves in goal for the Comets. UTD out shot the UMHB women 21-12 in the match.

The UMHB women will now travel to Clarksville, Arkansas to continue their road trip. The Lady Cru will take on University of the Ozarks in a 1:00 PM start on Saturday.
