Christmas Workshop and Concert

Steve BrooksBelton, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Art Department and Conservatory will be hosting their Annual Christmas Workshop and Concert on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Traditionally, children of all ages have enjoyed this event and all proceeds go to benefit Belton Communities-In-Schools.

The first part of the event will be an Art Workshop located in Presser Hall in Room 103. The second part of the event will be held in Hughes Recital Hall (also located in Presser Hall) where there will be a performance by Austin singer/songwriter Steve Brooks.

Steve Brooks will perform a program of American folk music, which has a rich heritage of songs for kids of all ages. By singing these songs and telling some of the stories behind them, he will entertain and educate at the same time and show will show how Irish, Mexican, Cajun, African-American and Native American songs have added their colors to the tapestry of American music. Space is limited and registration is strongly recommended.

Presser Hall is located at 9th and King Street on the UMHB campus. Children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult for the entire event. Admission is $15.00 per child.
