Art Faculty to Exhibit in Louisiana

Belton, Texas - Recent works of art in a variety of media will be displayed in an exhibition entitled "Yippie-Ki-Yay: UMHB Art Faculty" at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The show opens at 6 p.m., Thursday, December 4, in the Orville Hanchey Gallery on the campus of NSU.
According to Ted Barnes, UMHB gallery director and dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, the exhibition includes works by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor art faculty and adjunct faculty. "The show also enables us to introduce northwest Louisiana to UMHB and the faculty art," said Barnes.
Included in the exhibition are recent works by professors Ted Barnes, Phil Dunham, Barbara Fontaine-White, John Hancock, Helen Kwiatkowski, and Hershall Seals; adjunct faculty Shawn Camp, Jeanne Dittmann, and Samuel McCarter.
The reception, which is free and open to the public, begins at 6 p.m. Leslie Gruesbeck, NSU Director of Galleries, will introduce the artists at 7 p.m. The exhibition is sponsored by the Northwestern State University Department of Art.
