Nursing Capstone Symposium

Belton, Texas - The Scott & White College of Nursing at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will hold the Nursing Capstone Symposium on Tuesday, December 2, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Lord Conference Center located in the Parker Academic Building on the UMHB campus.
The symposium is held each semester and is presented by the senior UMHB nursing students enrolled in the Community Health Nursing course and the Nursing Leadership course. Students will be presenting an overview of their nursing capstone projects. These projects represent a culminating experience utilizing concepts and processes studied throughout the nursing curriculum and include a review of the literature. This is a significant requirement in the successful completion of the UMHB College of Nursing program. Projects are to be of real benefit to the communities they serve.
Presentations scheduled from 1:00-2:45 p.m. include "Influenza Storyboard" presented by Sarah Hare, Keely Miles, and Jennifer Sassano; "Scott & White Trauma Services: Motorcycle Safety" presented by Elizabeth Arellano, Sharleen Betancourt, Chien Chien, Jennifer Claybaugh, and Joana Mellado; "Temple Housing Authority: Belton Housing Senior Wellness" presented by Eniye Aiguobarueghian, Osa Aiguobarueghian., Tara Dandignac and Marlana Hefner; "Central Texas Housing Consortiums: Stroke Seminar" presented by Lauren Arnett, Katie Carruth, Kristin Gebhart, Kathleen Patterson and Kristin Roberts; "Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter" presented by Kathy Bielik, Kimberly Brock and Keri Phillips.
Presentations scheduled from 3:00-4:45 include "Community Health Education: Texas AgriLife Extension Services" presented by Angie Dendy, Shayla Griffin, Nini Perry, Camelia Rosemond and Natacha Smith; "Central Texas Housing Consortium: Fall Festival" presented by Samantha Carns, Mary DaMoude, Gretchen Eikenburg, Jessica Key and Loni King; "Geopolitical Community Assessment: Youngsport, Texas" presented by Dana Henry, Stephanie Isbell, Jamie Walker, Jennifer Wotruba; "UMHB Health Services: Pandemic Flu Preparedness" presented by LuAnne Alo, Rachel Hall, Analiz Morales, Soumaly Rattanasavanh; "Community Health Resources: Temple Brethren Church" presented by Candice Hammelwright, Tammy Mendez, DonnaLee Pollack, Doug Stearns, and Alyssa Taube.
The public is welcome to attend any presentation or the entire Symposium. There is no admission fee. The Symposium is sponsored by the Scott and White College of Nursing and is co-sponsored by Tau Epsilon, the UMHB Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. The primary faculty for the Community Health Nursing course is Tracy Booth, MS.Ed., RNC and primary faculty for the Leadership course is Glenda Bush, MSN, RN.
