Welcome to the Scott and White College of Nursing at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor---one of the oldest continuously functioning nursing programs in Texas. Originally established in 1904 as a Diploma program, it was through the foresight of Miss Anna Laura Cole, who held the dual position of Director of Nurses and Director of Education at the time, that the program was transitioned to Mary Hardin-Baylor College in 1968 so that students could graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Both programs have a rich history of high standards, high licensing exam pass rates {95.24% in 2005}, and excellent practitioners in all fields of nursing, and all over the world.
Academically qualified faculty, who continue to practice in various clinical settings, guide students in the learning process. A wide variety of hospital and community clinical lab experiences allow students the opportunity to use their knowledge and skills in the care of individual clients as well as various populations.
