Softball dominates Lobos in weekend games

The softball team is closer to retrieving its goal of making it to the ASC tournament. At the moment, the women are 14-0 in conference and will go up against Texas Lutheran at home April 18-19.


With the Lady Crusaders’ most recent doubleheader games against the Sul Ross University Lobos, the women proved how strong they are.


The first game on April 11 ended with a final score of 10-0, and in the later game, the team finished with a victorious score of 12-4.


The women have positive attitudes when it comes to believing how good they are.


Junior pitcher Shea Parker, does not doubt their potential.

Baseball falls to Tornados in 3-part series

BaseballThe Cru suffered a series loss against Concordia University April 11 and 12 as the team failed to clench any victories in its three-game weekend performances.


The team’s record dropped to 25-10 overall and 11-7 in American Southwest Conference West Division play.


Assistant Coach Derek Dunaway said the team’s overall performance wasn’t as it normally is.


“We didn’t play the good baseball that we know how to. They just outplayed us,” he said.

Lady Cru places 2nd in ASC

TennisThe spring brings out the athlete in many people. The quad is often filled with students tossing anything from a baseball to a Frisbee.


At the end of the college basketball season, many turn to the university’s baseball and softball fields to show their school spirit.


However, another sport taking notice is UMHB tennis.


With one upperclassman on the team, some thought this season would be a rebuilding year. Yet, the women’s tennis team is showing its toughness.
