Candlelighting

In 1939, the Alumnae Association designed the Candlelighting Ceremony "to give the alumnae and students a closer tie with the college." A ceremonial "charge" was written and has been read at each Candlelighting Ceremony.

In the ceremony, the Alumni Association president lights a large candle from which seniors light smaller ones, they in turn light the candles of others in attendance.
