Dubbing Ceremony

In the spring of 1995, students requested a ceremony to create closer emotional ties to the university. Subsequently, a "dubbing ceremony" became a part of Welcome Week. Each fall, new students are "dubbed" with a ceremonial sword by the university president as "Crusaders Forever." Beginning in 1999, at Spring Alumni Weekend, alumni now have the opportunity to participate in a similar "dubbing" ceremony.
