Get to Know UMHB:  Student-led Events

Easter Pageant

In 1940, President Singleton conceived a plan to utilize the ruins of Luther Hall for a portrayal of Holy Week. Cynthia Sory, drama faculty, wrote a script, created costumes and staged the drama. Currently, the pageant is student-directed and produced. The presentation is staged on the Wednesday afternoon prior to Easter Sunday. The role of Christ, one of the highest honors afforded UMHB students, is cast by the university president.
