Basket Challenge Nets Over $5,200.00!!!

The 2007 Crusader Family Weekend was a great weekend of fun for all.  Friday Night Live featured many talented students, faculty and staff and Christian professional comic, Bob Smiley.  A great time was had by all!

Saturday's Meet the Faculty Brunch was a hit, as usual.  Many families came to share a meal with some of the UMHB faculty.

After brunch, several parents stayed for the fall 2007 Crusader Parent Organization meeting with President Sabrina Angermann presiding.  UMHB President Dr. Jerry Bawcom welcomed the parents while during the meeting, Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Steve Theodore, gave a brief campus update Powerpoint presentation.  After CPO business (President's report, treasurer report, formation of officer nominating committee, vote to add Karen Howard as a member of the CPO Board) the meeting was adjourned.

During the day the UMHB Bookstore held a sidewalk sale.  The day came to a close with an excellent tailgate party before the UMHB football game including funnel cakes, cotton candy, Chik-Fil-A sandwiches, clowns and great live music. 

The highlight of the weekend for the CPO was the fantastic results from the Crusader Family Weekend Basket Challenge.  This year we had twice as many 'baskets' to auction as last year and the silent auction raised over $5,200.00 for the Crusader Parent Organization.  These funds will go towards purchasing an amenity for the students of UMHB. 

We encourage you to get involved in the CPO and help us decide where best to use these funds.  Remember, you are automatically a CPO member if you have a student here at UMHB.  We only have two formal meetings a year.  The spring meeting has not been scheduled yet, but there will be a notice on the Events calendar once the time and place are set.
