Federal Stafford Loans

The Federal Stafford Loan is our largest program of assistance, including subsidized and unsubsidized loans. Most undergraduate and graduate students who meet academic and citizenship requirements qualify for this loan. Loan amounts may vary depending on class standing.

The Loans by Web Application Process for NEW Borrowers You will use the following application process once you have been awarded a Stafford loan and received the award notice from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. You will have 60 days from the date of the award notice to complete the loan process. Loans for an upcoming fall semester must be completed by mid-July to correspond with the UMHB billing cycle. Loans for an upcoming spring semester must be completed by mid-November.

GETTING STARTED:

Loans by Web is intended to be self-explanatory. However, the following information may help you in the process.

  • You will need to provide your social security number, date of birth, driver's license number, two references that are U.S. residents and reside at two different addresses.•    Read each screen BEFORE answering questions.
  • It is important that you complete this application process on your loans as soon as you receive the Award Notice from UMHB. Any delay could extend the approval time on your loans, and delay funds being sent to your UMHB student account.
  • Log on to https://lbw.tgslc.org to begin the process. Remember to complete the online entrance counseling session before attempting the LBW.
