Employee Benefits


MEDICAL INSURANCE
Indemnity plan through University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Insurance Plan. Deductible of $250 - individual, $500 - family. Expenses paid at 90%/10% after deductible. Plan also provides prescription card and specified wellness benefits. The university will pay the cost for the employee and dependents may be added at the employee's expense. The rates per month will be as follows:

Spouse - 455.00     Children - 303.00      Family - 592.00

DENTAL INSURANCE
A limited benefit program offered through Reliance Standard. Preventive care is covered at 100%; Basic care is covered at 80%; and Major care is covered at 50% after a $50 per person deductible. The university will pay the cost for the employee and dependents may be added at the employee's expense. The rates per month will be as follows:

Spouse - 23.80       Children - 31.68       Family - 55.48

LIFE INSURANCE
Twice annual salary with maximum of $50,000. Premium is paid by university.
Supplemental life insurance is available to employee through life carrier.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE
Benefits are paid at 60% of annual income on a monthly basis for the length of time employee is determined to be disabled. Premium is paid by university.

RETIREMENT PROGRAM
Upon completion of one year of employment, the university will match employee contributions up to 10% of salary. Employee contributions are tax sheltered. Beginning with the third year of employment, contributions are 100% vested.

SICK LEAVE
Employees accrue eight hours per month to a maximum of eight weeks. Accrued time is not paid upon the employee's termination.

VACATION - STAFF ONLY
After one year of employment, an employee earns two weeks vacation time and three weeks after five years. This benefit does not apply to faculty.

TUITION REMISSION
Employees, spouses and unmarried children are entitled to undergraduate tuition remission after 90 days of employment or one long semester. Employees and their spouse are entitled to one-half graduate tuition after one year of employment. Books, fees, and supplies are the responsibility of the employee.

HOLIDAYS
Approximately 21 days per year as approved by the President's Council.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING
Money can be set aside from the employee's pay to reimburse themselves for medical or day care expenses. 

EDUCATIONAL SAVINGS PLAN
A 529 plan established through Investors of Texas to allow for tax-sheltered contributions to accounts for educational expenses. 

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Confidential counseling provided through Workers Assistance Program to deal with emotional or financial problems, stress, family management, etc. 

DIRECT DEPOSIT
Available to all full-time employees through participating financial institutions. 

EVENT ADMISSION
Free admission to most events and discounted tickets available for many other events. 

BOOKSTORE DISCOUNT
Discounts are available on bookstore items to employees and their dependents. 

PARKING
Employees are not required to pay a parking fee.
