Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required (prefer business, education or related field). A Master's degree is preferred.
- UMHB alumni status is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years full time employment experience in higher education in a professional position is required. Admissions or recruiting experience is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional public speaking/presentation skills are required.
- Exceptional business and technical writing skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
- Must be available to travel as required.
- Must be available for a flexible work schedule, including assigned weekend and evening hours to facilitate recruiting events and activities.
- Must be proficient in general office equipment operation.
- Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable by UMHB auto insurance carrier.
Responsibilities:
Directs assigned admissions and recruiting processes and activities. Reviews admission eligibility and approval status for student applicants, to include transcript, SAT/ACT and class rank evaluation and makes recommendations for admission. Serves as primary planner and coordinator for assigned recruiting events such as Cru Camp, Sader day, Preview weekends and college fairs (in collaboration with key stakeholders). Serves as primary point of contact for customers and employees in the absence of the Director. Assists Director in developing and monitoring department systems and goals. Serves as liason to home school associations and private schools for recruiting activities.
