We recognize the primacy of living out our mission as part of this strategic plan and continue to commit ourselves to the following imperatives as our intentional means of doing so.

We exist to serve students, to help them discover and live out their personal calling to service and scholarship. We commit ourselves as a university to a continued focus on our students and a vibrant campus community to support them.

THEME #3: A FOCUS ON LEARNING

The primary way we serve our students is to help them learn and grow in and out of the classroom. We renew our commitment to providing a high quality, affordable education that is characterized by outstanding classroom teaching and distinctive academic programs.

THEME #4: A FOCUS ON RESOURCES

In order to serve students well and provide an outstanding educational experience, we commit ourselves to careful stewardship of existing resources and creative, active pursuit of fundraising initiatives.

UMHB Strategic Plan

The UMHB Strategic Plan for 2011-18 describes steps the university will take to move from its current level of effectiveness toward the vision of being the university of choice for Christian higher education in the Southwest. Faculty and staff worked with administrators to determine how members of the UMHB community can work together to fulfill the university’s mission, meet the needs of students, facilitate learning, and make good use of institutional resources.

The Strategic Plan for 2011-2018 calls for continuous improvement in all aspects of the university, from academic offerings and campus life to the hiring of top-notch faculty and staff members. The facilities called for in the Campus Master Plan form a component of the Strategic Plan, as do strategies for securing the funds needed to build those projects.
