Belton, Texas -The Performance Studies Students in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will present Acting and Directing: From Stage to Camera, on Monday, April 28, at 5:00 p.m., in Brindley Auditorium, York Hall, at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The public is invited to the presentation. The performance studies students will compare and contrast Acting and Directing for Stage and Film. Students will show examples as they discuss the following topics: Preparation, Imagination, Roles, Emotion, Dynamics, Objectives, Needs, Selectivity, Personalization, Movement, Expression, Composition, Rhythm, Tempo, Voice, and Body.

The UMHB Performance Studies Program involves a interdisciplinary, cutting-edge, practical approach to preparing marketable students for performance and technical work on radio, television, video, film, platform, and stage. It presents Performance Studies as communication art within complex, multi-cultural, contexts of communication performance. It practically prepares students for substantive work in a broad range of communication fields.

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Performance Studies/Communication Students and Graduates serve as the following: talent, agents, directors, instructors, teachers, presenters, professors, administrators, producers and more. Their work is in a broad number of categories such as the following: communication, stage, marketing, sales, advertising, public relations, camps, youth work, dramatic fields, music, ministries, social services, political arenas, recreation, travel, churches, schools, film companies, performance arenas, entertainments industries and more.
