Transfer Connection
What is Transfer Connection?
Transfer Connection is an orientation program for transfer students that is also offered for students who begin their journey at UMHB in January or after attending another university. Students will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor, register for classes, learn about campus resources and services, and explore opportunities that will assist them in succeeding at UMHB. Students must meet with an academic advisor in order to register for classes; students registered for Transfer Connection will have the opportunity to complete their advising appointment virtually in advance of the in-person, on-campus portion of their respective Transfer Connection date.
Registration
Registration is currently open. Students eligible to register for Transfer Connection will receive an email from Admissions with the registration link. If you have not received the registration link and believe you should have, please contact admissions at 254-295-4520.

Tentative Schedule for Transfer Connection
8:00 am – Check-in at Bawcom Student Union
8:30 am – Welcome in McLane Great Hall – 3rd floor of Bawcom Student Union
- Following the welcome, representatives from academic units and campus resource offices will share important information about academic programs, advising, student life, and student success.
- Mid-morning break-out sessions will offer opportunities to learn about using military benefits, to hear about managing student mental health, to meet other incoming students, and to tour campus.
- The detailed schedule will be announced during the Welcome.
For students who have not completed academic advising and registered for courses at UMHB, attending Transfer Connection is required to complete those steps. Students will be assigned an academic advising appointment time, during which course registration will be completed.
For students who have been advised and registered, this event is not required; however, it is helpful in orienting you to campus services, resources, personnel, and buildings.
