Curriculum Vitae (Résumé)
Dr. "A.K." Akintunde is an engineering educator. He obtained a B.Sc. (with honors) in physics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria and a MS in physics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. After obtaining his B.Sc. degree, he taught high school physics for a year, and worked in the corporate sector with PricewaterhouseCoopers for three years rising to the senior associate position. As an undergraduate, his research was in environmental health physics and as a master's degree student, his research focused on computational modeling of infrasonic attenuation and dispersion in the lower thermosphere. His interests in applications of scientific concepts and engineering methods to biology and medicine led him to pursue a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Tulane University where his research was on mathematical modeling of soft biological tissues. His overall motivation is to solve engineering problems and contribute to the improvement of human living conditions.
